Creative In 2026

A New Year’s Resolution

Welcome to the first of the Silverhand Creative blogs for 2026. It’s just a short one (said the Bishop to the actress), as the start to a new year is always a bit slow for me. The struggle to climb out of the Christmas/New Year’s lethargy is real, as with all things when you have a break.

We’re all individuals and our coping mechanisms are wide and varied, but I always look towards my creative side to help me break out of the winter blues. Whether it’s coming up with something new, or having a fresh look at a half-finished (or completely abandoned) projects.

So, with that in mind, here’s a brief look at what I’m hoping to get around to in 2026.

More Blogs

Whilst I’m trying to hold down a part-time job and keep on top of all things Silverhand Creative, finding free time to research and write blogs is becoming increasingly difficult. Having said that, I do have quite a few unfinished blogs waiting in the wings. But, until the weather gets a bit better, here in the UK, the practical side of these blogs will have to wait.

For now, blogs may be reviews, or product focused. But, once we get into warmer Spring months, I’ll endeavour to complete the practical side of the unfinished ones.

Creations

Getting the Silverhand Store up and running (more on that in a bit), at the back end of last year, sucked up all of my focus from creating anything. Add to that, the surprising (to me, at least) turn of events of becoming an importer of the Zetsaw range of Japanese Saws and all that was (and still is) involved with that; making stuff didn’t happen.

I have a plethora of projects and ideas buzzing around in my head, so hopefully some (if not all) of these should come to fruition this year.

Silverhand Store

Work on the Shopify store had predominantly Zetsaw focused, with new products (to the store) in their range being listed on a weekly basis. Once I’ve gotten my head around supply, stock and demand (of and for) this brand, I have a couple of other brands showing interest.

I don’t want to say too much right now (just in case), but regular readers (I can dream) of my blogs may have an inkling of which brands they might be.

Should I manage to get some creations made, they’ll be added to the store too.

Social Media

I have absolutely no idea how any of these Social Media types, on Instagram or YouTube, find the time to physically make stuff, when they’re uploading posts and reels on a daily basis. Never mind actually finding the time to sell the items they make.

But, new year, new me and all that crap. I promise I’ll make a more enthusiastic effort to post on my Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Fairs, Markets (& Shows?)

With all that I had going on last year, I completely missed out on any of this. As time and finances were tight, it just didn’t enter my head. Whilst I still have much to do, I will try to get out more and see what can be seen. I do have my eye on a show at the end of the year, but I’ll let you know more as and when.

Finally

After all the hardships I’ve endured, getting Silverhand Creative off the ground (and keeping it going), I finally feel like I’m getting somewhere. There’s still a long way to go, especially to make the business self-sufficient, but I feel better about my creative future.

Whatever you’re going to get up to this year, be safe (although, I’m still not your mother), and just do it.

Take care,

C.

Further Reading And Footnotes

For more information about me and all that is Silverhand Creative, go check out the About Me page on this website. I have a presence on Instagram and Facebook, where I post photos (and the odd video) of ongoing and finished projects. There’s also a YouTube channel, where you can see how I go about doing what I do and what tools I prefer to use. So, feel free (there’s no pressure) to follow and/or subscribe to any (or all) of the above.

If you’re feeling fruity, and would like to support my endeavours, then please head over to the silverhandstore.com web store and treat yourself a little something.  I am most definitely amenable to commission work and have a web form for you to get in touch, should you be looking for something a little more bespoke.
