Zetsaw Japanese Saws (nokogiri)

A Year In The Making (Well, Almost)

When I first wrote my blog on Japanese Saws, I was simply a user of Zetsaw Japanese Saws. I purchased them from a reputable independent retailer, here in the UK, and used them when crafting my creations. The blog was my way of processing all that I had learned about Japanese saws up to that point, and to pass that knowledge along.

At the start of said blog, I put a disclaimer stating that I was in no way sponsored, or received any cash incentive from the manufacturers of Zetsaw to write it. As I was a user, that was just my frame of reference when I was writing and I thought nothing more of it.

Opportunity

Then early this year (2025, if you’re reading this in the future) I made a start on the preparations for my new online webstore; Silverhand Store. Initially, I envisioned the store to be solely for selling the creations I make, and be an extension of this folio website.

A couple of months later (when I was purchasing more Zetsaw saws), I was contacted directly by the owner of the store to say that they were looking to retire and wondered if I knew anyone who would be willing to take up the baton.

I literally jumped at the chance. After five or six months of negotiations, it turned out (disappointingly) that I wasn’t in a position, financially, for a buy out. But, an agreement was struck to the satisfaction of both parties, and supply lines direct from Japan are in place.

Zetsaw Japanese Saws’ New Home In Sheffield.

So, it makes me extremely happy (and more than a little bit giggly) to announce that Zetsaw Japanese Saws now have a new home with Silverhand Creative, right here in Sheffield. I intended to only be selling a small range of saws (just the saws I used in my creations), but I will now be selling a more varied range of Zetsaw Japanese Saws, replacement blades and accessories.

There will also be some Japanese Saw related resources available. Free to peruse or download.

State Of Shock

I’m still a little bit in shock that it happened at all, and filled with self-doubt that I can make this work, but here we are. So, if you are in the market for a new saw, then help a fella out and head on over to the Silverhand Store and have a look.

By the way, the webstore is on the Shopify platform, so if you have the Shop app on your mobile devices please be kind and give Silverhand Store a follow. That would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

C…
